Welcome to DEF CON Training! We’re excited to have you join us this summer, with the first classes starting on August 9.

All summer classes have been confirmed, so if you haven’t heard from me about needing to transfer, you are good to go! As a reminder, DEF CON Training will run at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Here are a few important updates and reminders as we get closer to kickoff:

1. Important Check In and Certificate Information

The week of July 21, all students should have received an email through Humanitix with your check-in pass. You will need to have the QR code in this message to check in and receive your Learner badge.

If you registered after July 21, don't worry! We will send out QR codes about twice a week to new registrants.

If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still do not find it, please email training@defcon.org. If you purchased a course on behalf of a different student, only the student should have received this email.

You should also have received an email confirming the name and preferred format for your course certificate. Please review these details and provide any updates to training@defcon.org no later than August 6. If you registered after July 27, we will send this information to new registrants about twice a week.

2. Badge Pickup and Training Check-In – Room 263, LVCC North Hall

  • All other students can come by from Thursday to Sunday to check in and pick up their Learner badge in the same room (LVCC N263). Check-in will also be available Monday morning prior to 8:00 am, but we encourage you to come earlier in the weekend to avoid the line!

5. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Human Badge to attend training?

No, you do not need a Human Badge to attend your course, only your training Learner badge. However, if you would also like to attend DEF CON over the weekend, you will need to purchase a Human Badge.

Does my training come with a Human Badge for DEF CON?

Only 4-day and Saturday-Sunday courses include a Human Badge. If you are joining us for a Monday-Tuesday course and would like to pre-purchase a Human Badge to pick up at training check in, email training@defcon.org and we can send you an invoice. You do not need a Human Badge to attend your training course.

What if my training comes with a Human Badge for DEF CON? Where can I pick it up?

All 4-day and Saturday-Sunday courses include a Human Badge. You can pick up your Human Badge at training check in, located in the LVCC North Hall, Room 263 (details above). You do not need to line up in LineCon.

What do I need to bring to check in?

Bring your QR code, sent in a separate message through Humanitix, to check in - that’s it! Both printed or electronic versions will be accepted.

I purchased this training for someone else. Why am I receiving informational emails?

We are keeping all training “purchasers” included in our weekly updates to make sure all registrants get the information they need. If you have provided us with the student names and emails, they should be receiving updates, too. If you haven’t done so, please send those details to training@defcon.org as soon as possible.

6. Additional Questions: If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to training@defcon.org.
