Thank you for joining us for our first DEF CON Training Singapore! A few post-training updates:

Course Certificates

At this time, all students should have received their PDF certificate via the email provided at registration or via the certificate name/email update form.

Please email us at training@defcon.org if you have not received your certificate (be sure to check your spam folder!) or if any information on the certificate needs to be updated.

Credly Badges

All students will receive a Credly badge, reflecting the same details included in your course certificate. Processing this data takes a few weeks, and Credly badges are typically issued about one month after training.

Training Welcome and FAQ

Welcome to DEF CON Training! We’re excited to have you join us for our first-ever training in Singapore, starting on April 26.

Here are a few important updates and reminders as we get closer to kickoff:

1. Important Check In Information

Starting the week of April 12, all students should receive an email through Humanitix with your check-in pass. You will need to have the QR code in this message to check in and receive your Learner badge.

If you registered after April 12, don't worry! We will send out QR codes about twice a week to new registrants.

If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still do not find it, please email training@defcon.org. If you purchased a course on behalf of a different student, only the student should have received this email.

2. Badge Pickup and Training Check-In

Check in will be in the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, level four, outside of the Melati Ballroom. We’ll provide more detailed arrival instructions and maps prior to the first day of training.

Check in will be available starting one hour before the start of training, beginning at 7:30 am on Sunday, April 26.

3. Training Schedule

Training will follow the schedule below, with some flexibility in the lunch and break times at each trainer’s discretion.

8:30 am Training Begins

11:30 am Lunch Break

12:45 pm Training Resumes

Afternoon Break - Trainer’s Choice

5:30 pm Training Ends, Optional Open Lab & Question Time

6:00 pm Training Rooms Close

Coffee will be provided in the morning before courses begin. Coffee and light snacks will be provided for the afternoon break.

4. Room Assignment: Trainings will be at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, level 4. Room assignments will be shared during the week before training.

5. Happy Hour on Sunday, April 26: All students and trainers will be invited to join us for an informal happy hour with Jeff Moss (The Dark Tangent) on Sunday, April 26. This is completely optional and is not part of the official training program.

Happy Hour will be at 6:30 pm at Le Noir in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (2 Bayfront Ave, #01 - 84, Singapore 018972). Please note that food and drinks will be self purchased.

6. Lunch Suggestions

Lunch is free time, so you are welcome to use it however you would like. For options in the area, we recommend the food court in the Marina Bay Sands or nearby Marina Square (6 Raffles Blvd, Singapore 039594).

It's a bit under 15 minutes away using public transit. To get there, take the MRT from the Bayfront station (DT toward Bukit Panjang) to the Promenade station (1 stop). From there, it's about an 8 minute walk.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a DEF CON Singapore conference badge to attend training?

No, you do not need a conference badge to attend your course, only your training Learner badge. However, if you would also like to attend DEF CON Singapore April 28-30, you will need to purchase a conference badge.

Does my training come with a conference badge for DEF CON Singapore?

No, your course registration only grants access to the training areas on April 26-27. If you would like to attend the conference later in the week, you will need to purchase a badge via sg.shop.defcon.org.

What do I need to bring to check in?

Bring your QR code (included in this message) to check in - that’s it! Both printed or electronic versions will be accepted.

I purchased this training for someone else. Why am I receiving this email?

If you purchased a course on behalf of someone else and received this message, please email training@defcon.org with your order number and the correct student name and email so they can be issued a check in ticket.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the Marina Bay Sands. You can find information on their website here.

If you prefer to park offsite, there are alternatives in the surrounding area. Some options include the Marina Bay Open Carpark, Bayfront Plaza Carpark, and Marina Square Carpark.

How do I find the training area?

When arriving via MRT, follow the directions below the find the training area on level 4 of the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center. Training will be the Peony, Orchid, and Melati ballrooms.
